how and why has change happened?

  • Capacity building of the local beneficiaries is vital for active participation of local communities for educational and social development
  • Students education is effected by their families' economic condition

Reflections on overall progress during the reporting period

  • Around 20,000 students of 20 schools and 20 colleges, 1000 youths from different organizations and clubs, more than 200 housewives, more than 200 NRNs are participating in "solely Nepali funded school" campaign with a sense of responsibility towards the development of remote areas.
  • 15 children of Bhurungkhel, Kathmandu have been made aware of importance of proper education, responsible behaviour towards family and society and voluntary involvement in community based activities.
  • 3. Mobilized 27 youths of Dolpafor educational and social development of communities with active participation of the communities in Saldang, Chun and Besgad VDCs.
  • Provided access to health services and medications for more than 1200 people of 5 villages of Saldang VDC with the help of local health posts and health personnel.
  • Supported educational materials to 500 children of 3 VDCs of Dolpa.
  • 6. Mobilizing volunteers for teaching, distributing of educational materials to Yeatsher Primary School and MukotHimal Primary school in Saldang VDC.
  • 7. Empowerment of youths of Saldang VDC to initiate adult literacy program and to support senior citizens.
  • The mega-earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015 and the following political crisis hampered the management of organizational activities.

  • 1. Awareness raised in the local community of Dolpa regarding importance of education, hence send their children to schools rather than involving them in household chores or sending them to traditional education system (Lama).
